Overview
- Officers responded around 10 a.m. Sunday to the 300 block of North Avenue 52 for an attempted grand theft, and the suspect fled on foot and was not found.
- The vehicle owner discovered an approximately 2-year-old boy and a dog left inside the car following the attempt.
- DCFS took custody of the child, and Los Angeles County Animal Services took the dog, which officers said appeared familiar with the boy.
- Police released a description of the child as a male with a medium complexion and curly brown hair, last seen in a light gray quarter-zip sweater.
