LAPD Says Teen Found in D4vd’s Tesla Was Likely Dead for Weeks Before Discovery

Detectives are awaiting autopsy results to determine possible criminal culpability.

Overview

  • Capt. Scot M. Williams said someone placed Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s body in the car’s front trunk and that the vehicle had sat for weeks before it was towed.
  • Parking records show the Tesla was marked on Aug. 27, cited on Sept. 3 for the 72-hour rule, then impounded; a tow-yard worker reported a foul odor on Sept. 8, prompting the discovery.
  • LAPD Robbery–Homicide served a Sept. 17 search warrant at a residence near where the Tesla was towed and seized items now undergoing forensic review.
  • The medical examiner has not determined cause or manner of death for the severely decomposed remains, which were found in a bag; the body has been released to the family.
  • No arrests have been made, no suspect has been identified, and D4vd (David Anthony Burke) has not been charged, with his representatives saying he is cooperating.
