LAPD Investigates $30K Labubu Doll Theft From La Puente Shop

Owner Joanna Avendano has appealed for public assistance after the burglars targeted only the collectible figures during a predawn raid.

Overview

  • Four masked intruders smashed into One Stop Sales in La Puente at roughly 1:30 a.m. on August 10 and walked off with about $30,000 in Labubu dolls.
  • Security footage shows the thieves loading only the collectible figures and ignoring electronics, cash and other merchandise.
  • The latest heist follows a similar break-in on August 7 that yielded about $7,000 in the same inventory.
  • Labubu dolls, created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung, have soared in value—one sold for $105,000 in late July—and been championed by Rihanna and Dua Lipa.
  • The Los Angeles Police Department has opened an investigation and store owner Joanna Avendano is seeking tips via Instagram to recover the stolen stock.
