Lannemezan’s Octobre Rose Day Draws 350 as Towns Turn Out for Walks, Charity Sport and Screening Outreach

Community-led activities are doubling as prevention outreach for local breast-cancer fundraising.

Overview

  • Lannemezan’s hospital hosted a full-day program that paired a lamp-lit solidarity walk of about 350 people with on-site health education and screenings.
  • The first charitable golf competition at the Lannemezan course drew roughly 20 players, with funds collected to be donated to La Ligue for breast-cancer screening.
  • Health programming included a Village Santé with workshops, the Préven’TIMM information truck, and a prevention talk led by a midwife, doctors and the association Les Rubies.
  • Organizers reported strong volunteer support from Inner Wheels and Rotary for registrations and donations, and about 200 attendees stayed for an evening meal.
  • La Provence also reported wider mobilizations, with 450 participants at the first Sénassaise walk and a Sausset color run scheduled for October 18 at the Alain Calmat gymnasium, capped at 500 entries and aiming to raise about €6,000 for Un K au féminin.
