Lanisek Wins Falun Large Hill as Germans Miss Top Ten and Kraft Plans Break

After setting the career World Cup points mark in Tuesday’s normal-hill win, Stefan Kraft heads home for the birth of his first child, leaving Ruka to proceed without the Austrian star.

Overview

  • Anze Lanisek won the large-hill event in Falun with 129.0 m and 128.5 m, finishing ahead of Austria’s Stephan Embacher and Slovenia’s Domen Prevc.
  • Stefan Kraft led after the first round but slipped to ninth in shifting wind; a day earlier he claimed victory on the small hill and raised the all-time points record to 15,811, passing Janne Ahonen.
  • Philipp Raimund was the top German in 11th, following his Falun hill record of 99.5 m and third place on the normal hill; Felix Hoffmann placed 12th and Pius Paschke 14th.
  • Andreas Wellinger and Karl Geiger failed to reach the final on the large hill, finishing 40th and 41st as their early-season struggles continued.
  • Kraft will skip the upcoming World Cup stop in Kuusamo/Ruka for family reasons, as the circuit moves on under new, tighter suit rules that are reshaping results.
