Overview
- Subhash Chandra, who ran a community kitchen for Mata Machail pilgrims, was found alive after spending nearly 30 hours under debris following the cloudburst-triggered flash flood on August 14.
 - Indian Army units joined the NDRF, SDRF, J&K Police and local volunteers in the clearance operation that also recovered four bodies at the langar site.
 - Authorities report roughly 60 fatalities and over 100 injuries from the deluge, with around 82 people—including 81 pilgrims and a CISF jawan—still unaccounted for.
 - Officials suspended the annual Mata Machail Yatra after the floods flattened the makeshift langar, market, bridge and several homes in Chisoti, the starting point of the 8.5-kilometre trek to the shrine.
 - Heavy rain and damaged access routes continue to complicate medical evacuations and the delivery of relief supplies to survivors and displaced residents.
