Newton-Kay told Derby Crown Court the vehicle pursued his bike after he stopped to assist it in a field, ending in the crash that killed Armstrong

  • He said the 4×4 attempted to ram their bike four times and on the fifth strike Armstrong was thrown over the bonnet and left fatally injured.
  • Armstrong, 25, died at the scene in Pleasley while Newton-Kay sustained injuries that led to an above-knee amputation.
  • Muldoon, 23, contests a murder charge but has admitted causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving.
  • The court heard that Muldoon had been dealing drugs and picked up a potential buyer in Mansfield before the fatal encounter.
