Lalbaugcha Raja Auction Nets ₹1.65 Crore as 108 Offerings Sell

Organisers cite soaring bullion prices for lower takings that support the mandal’s community work.

Overview

  • The open auction at the Lalbaugcha Raja stage on September 11 ran from 5 pm to 10 pm and sold 108 donated gold and silver items.
  • The mandal reported total collections of ₹1,65,71,111 from the sale of the offerings.
  • A 100-gram gold biscuit fetched about ₹11 lakh, bought by devotee Rajendra Lanjwal, according to chairperson Balasaheb Kamble.
  • This year’s offerings amounted to roughly 2.07 kg of gold and about 55 kg of silver, with lots including necklaces, biscuits, silver modaks, idols, a mooshak, a gada and a cricket bat.
  • Coverage noted a decline versus some previous years, which organisers linked to higher gold and silver prices, with proceeds directed to the mandal’s charitable and community initiatives.
