- Los Angeles will reveal the bronze figure of Hall of Famer Pat Riley before hosting the Boston Celtics on February 22, 2026.
- The announcement was embedded in the Lakers’ 2025–26 schedule release and will take place at Star Plaza outside the downtown arena.
- Riley amassed a 533–194 regular-season record and a 102–47 playoff mark in nine seasons as Lakers head coach, capturing championships in 1982, 1985, 1987 and 1988.
- He will become the eighth person honored with a statue at Star Plaza, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Shaquille O’Neal and Chick Hearn.
- Riley remains president of the Miami Heat and was celebrated last season when the franchise named its downtown court after him.
