Lakers Add Depth and Versatility Ahead of Playoffs; Still Vie for Sixth Seed

The Lakers have signed veterans Tristan Thompson and Shaquille Harrison to add frontcourt depth and defensive skill ahead of the playoffs.
To create roster space, the Lakers waived guard Davon Reed.
Thompson, who last played for the Bulls, provides rebounding and inside scoring off the bench.
Harrison, formerly with the G League's South Bay Lakers, adds perimeter defense and playmaking.
The moves come as the Lakers sit in seventh but can still finish sixth, avoiding the play-in tournament.
