- A winter storm watch is in effect for Herkimer and Hamilton counties from Thursday 4 p.m. to Saturday 7 a.m.
- Forecasters expect 6 to 12 inches in the most persistent bands with pockets of 7 inches or more possible, with the greatest amounts on the Tug Hill Plateau.
- Gusts up to 45 to 50 mph will cause blowing and drifting snow, making travel very difficult and posing a risk of downed branches and isolated power outages.
