Overview
- Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe announced the new Hall of Fame class on Nov. 6.
- The inductees are Philipp Lahm, Dirk Nowitzki, Greta Blunck, Kathrin Boron, Britta Heidemann and Maria Höfl-Riesch.
- The official induction ceremony is scheduled for Nov. 19 in Frankfurt/Main.
- The six have won 54 medals at major events—12 Olympic, 35 world and 7 European—according to DOSB president Thomas Weikert.
- With these additions, the Hall now includes 137 members, selected from Sporthilfe, DOSB and VDS nominations by a jury that values sporting success and societal engagement.
