Overview

• Kavinder Gupta made his first visit to the sacred Mata Vaishno Devi cave shrine since taking office as Ladakh’s Lieutenant Governor.
• At the shrine, he prayed for the peace, prosperity and well-being of people in Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir and across India.
• He sought divine backing for his broader agenda of communal harmony and regional development.
• He outlined plans to bolster Ladakh’s tourism potential and said he intends to explore routing the annual Amarnath Yatra through the territory.
• He will meet national leaders on August 1 to secure support for key infrastructure and tourism initiatives in Ladakh.
