Labour MP Dan Norris Arrested Over Rape and Child Sex Offence Allegations

Dan Norris, Labour MP for North East Somerset & Hanham, was arrested on Friday on suspicion of rape, child sex offences, and misconduct in public office.
The allegations include historic child sex offences from the 2000s and a rape claim from the 2020s, referred to Avon and Somerset Police in December 2024.
The investigation is being led by Operation Bluestone, a specialized team handling rape and serious sexual assault cases, and remains in its early stages.
The Labour Party immediately suspended Norris following his arrest and has declined further comment during the ongoing investigation.
The victim in the case is receiving specialist support as police urge the public to avoid speculation while inquiries continue.
