Overview

• Federal, state and local government offices, courts, public and private schools, and most banks will be closed on Monday, September 1.
• The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will be closed for the holiday.
• USPS will not provide pickup or delivery, UPS will halt regular pickups and deliveries with Express Critical operating, and most FedEx services will be closed while FedEx Office runs on modified hours and FedEx Custom Critical remains open.
• Major retailers and grocers such as Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Trader Joe’s and chains under Kroger plan to operate, and Lowe’s says its stores will be open on normal hours, though customers should confirm local schedules.
• Costco locations will be closed nationwide, Aldi will operate on limited hours, and Sam’s Club will be open 8 a.m.–6 p.m. for Plus members and 10 a.m.–6 p.m. for Club members; Walgreens stores will open on regular hours but most pharmacies will be closed, while CVS stores and pharmacies will be open with hours varying by location.
