Overview

  • LA28 signed Comcast for the temporary squash venue at Universal Studios and Honda for the Anaheim arena hosting Olympic volleyball under the new program.
  • The IOC approved the pilot to depart from the longstanding ‘clean venue’ tradition and uphold strict advertising restrictions on the field of play.
  • Up to 19 temporary competition sites are available for corporate naming rights, with Olympic Partner (TOP) sponsors given first selection followed by top domestic partners.
  • Permanent landmarks such as the Rose Bowl, LA Memorial Coliseum and Dodger Stadium are excluded from naming rights sales and will retain standard IOC brand rules.
  • LA28 projects that naming rights sales will significantly boost its private funding for the $7.1 billion Games budget and shape the IOC’s assessment of future hosts.
