La Volga Ovation Marks Day 3 at Punjab Maas Theatre Festival in Lahore

Mid-run momentum shows packed halls with deepening international exchange.

  • The six-day, government-backed festival runs Oct. 10–15 at Alhamra with 15 plays, five panels and four workshops featuring companies from seven countries.
  • German facilitator Christian H. Schröter led a pantomime workshop at Adbi Baithak focused on storytelling beyond language.
  • A panel on Social Change Through Theatre featured Naveed Shahzad and Dr Khalid Butt with moderation by Prof Dr Ahmad Bilal.
  • France’s La Volga performed Monsieur et Madame O to a standing ovation, followed by the Maas Foundation’s Permasher Singh.
  • The grounds doubled as a cultural fair, and Oct. 13 will feature Tu Kon?, Ekthesis and Junoon along with a Society and Performing Arts panel with Asghar Nadeem Syed, Naveed Shahzad and Adeel Hashmi.
