- The move follows U.S. policy taking effect Aug. 29 that ends the de minimis exemption and applies roughly 15% duties to postal shipments valued under $800.
- Deutsche Post, Bpost, Correos, PostNord and Austrian Post have announced similar temporary restrictions, and PostEurop warned on Aug. 19 that broader suspensions could follow without solutions.
- La Poste averages 1.6 million parcels to the U.S. each year with about 80% from businesses, and it says no grace period was granted by U.S. customs.
