Overview

• Judge Martha Patricia Rodríguez Salinas of the Tamaulipas Superior Court absolved Sofía del Carmen Monsiváis Treviño under case CP0004/2018, ordering her immediate release on August 7, 2025.
• Monsiváis Treviño had faced charges of association delictuosa, crimes against public servants and homicide calificado, including accusations she organized a May 2019 attack on guards at Cefereso 16 that left five custodians dead.
• The court found the prosecution failed to present sufficient evidence to prove her responsibility for the alleged crimes.
