Overview
- Mexico City police and prosecutors executed two court-approved searches in Tláhuac, detaining four suspects including Verónica “N” (“La Jefa”), identified as a probable cell leader.
- The raids in Miguel Hidalgo and Las Arboledas yielded more than 1,000 retail doses of apparent cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana, and both properties were sealed for ongoing investigation.
- Authorities say La Jefa is the partner of Luis Felipe “El Felipillo,” has prior 2019 probes for weapons and drug offenses, and is linked to drug sales, extortion, predatory loans and property dispossession.
- Separately in Sinaloa, federal forces reported seizing over 500 kilos and 130 liters of methamphetamine, 23 kilos and 211,000 fentanyl pills in Culiacán, along with a clandestine lab holding more than 3,400 liters and about a ton of precursors.
- A second operation in Cosalá destroyed an area used to store precursors with 1,550 liters and 275 kilos of chemicals, with all seizures turned over to federal prosecutors after interagency operations involving Sedena, Semar, GN, FGR, SSC and FGJCDMX.
