- King Felipe VI presided over the June 4 ceremony at Madrid’s CaixaForum, urging recipients to return home with knowledge and experience for Spain’s benefit.
- One hundred scholars were selected from 1,045 applicants for an acceptance rate below 10%, with an average age of 24.
- Recipients will pursue 82 master’s degrees, 17 doctorates and one research placement at leading institutions including Cambridge, Oxford and LSE.
- The awards cover full tuition, a monthly stipend, travel expenses and orientation sessions for study in Europe (71 scholarships), the United States (27) and Japan (2).
- Since its launch in 1982, the programme has backed more than 6,000 alumni and invested over €219 million in overseas postgraduate studies.
