KZN Declares Full Readiness for 2025 Matric Exams, With 195,899 Candidates Registered

  • The province confirmed 195,899 candidates are registered to write in 2025, up 3% from last year, with exams set for October 21 to November 27.
  • Operations will deploy 6,450 invigilators across 6,712 rooms at 1,705 public and 61 private centres, supported by 13 storage points and 103 distribution and collection centres.
  • A total of 113 question papers will be printed for 27 morning and 27 afternoon sessions, amounting to 35,192,785 printouts across the exam period.
  • Integrity measures include additional monitors at high‑risk centres, 7,889 markers with appointment letters due by end‑October, and marking scheduled for December 2–12 at 32 centres with on‑time payments coordinated with Provincial Treasury.
  • Learner preparation featured Winter Tuition from June 27 to July 21 and Spring Boot Camps across 11 districts from October 5–12, supporting more than 4,380 learners, while JoCom partners are in place for emergency procedures.
