Overview
- The shooting happened around 1:30 p.m. at the Shell/Speedy Mart in the 600 block of Bloomfield Road in Bardstown.
- KSP said a Nelson County Humane Society employee called 911 about a disorderly person who threatened them with a firearm.
- Deputies located the vehicle traveling north on U.S. 31E, attempted a traffic stop, and the driver refused to yield before pulling into the parking lot.
- According to KSP, the man raised and pointed a firearm at deputies, two deputies fired, and he died from his injuries, and no officers were hurt.
- KSP identified the deceased as Norman Perkins, 80, of New Haven, and its Critical Incident Team is leading the investigation.
