Kroger Recalls Deli Pasta Salads in 28 States Over Listeria Concern

The move followed a supplier alert linking Nate’s Fine Foods pasta to a Listeria risk under federal outbreak investigation.

Overview

  • Two items are affected: Basil Pesto Bowtie Salad and Smoked Mozzarella Penne Salad sold at deli counters and in grab-and-go packages across 1,860 Kroger-owned stores.
  • The salads were available from Sept. 6 to Oct. 2 at banners including Baker’s, City Market, Dillons, Fred Meyer, Fry’s, Gerbes, King Soopers, Payless, Ralphs and Smith’s.
  • Kroger removed the products and notified purchasers via receipt messages and email, advising customers to return or discard the items for a refund or replacement.
  • No illnesses have been reported in connection with these salads, according to the FDA notice.
  • Fresh Creative Foods alerted Kroger on Sept. 26 and Oct. 1 after Nate’s Fine Foods recalled bowtie and penne pasta, Albertsons announced a related recall, and Nate’s says it is working with the FDA and CDC.
