Kraft Group Reaches Deals With Boston, Everett to Advance Revolution Stadium Plan

The agreements avert arbitration, sending the proposal into environmental and permitting reviews that could take years.

Overview

  • Boston secured a nearly $48 million, 15-year package that includes $13 million in direct payments and an ongoing per-ticket revenue stream expected to total about $34 million in the first 15 years.
  • The Boston deal directs $3 million over six years to the Charlestown Community Impact Fund and sets surcharges of $1 per soccer ticket or 1.5% of concert tickets, with at least half of annual ticket revenues earmarked for Charlestown projects.
  • Everett’s agreement commits $20 million for a four-acre waterfront park, $17.5 million for a new Assembly Orange Line station headhouse to link a planned pedestrian bridge, and a $2.25-per-ticket fee.
  • The accords meet a Dec. 31 deadline set by a 2024 state law and avoid binding arbitration, but construction still requires MEPA review and local approvals.
  • The Kraft Group agreed to demolish and remediate the former power plant, fund Sullivan Square infrastructure upgrades, cover public safety and transportation management for events, and pursue transit, bike, ferry and waterfront access for a roughly 25,000-seat stadium near Encore Boston Harbor.
