KPop Demon Hunters Soundtrack Hits No. 2; 'Golden' Conquers Global Charts

Netflix will release CD and vinyl editions later this year, gearing up to push its hit single for Best Original Song Oscar consideration.

Overview

  • The soundtrack rose from No. 3 to a career-high No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in its third week with 75,000 equivalent album units.
  • It logged 96.33 million on-demand streams, the strongest weekly total for a soundtrack since Encanto in 2022.
  • It became the first top-10 debut soundtrack to post week-over-week unit gains in both its second and third weeks since 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
  • HUNTR/X’s “Golden” climbed to No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts and jumped to No. 6 on the Hot 100, marking the first virtual act in the top 10 since 2009.
  • Physical editions are slated for CD in August and vinyl in October, and Netflix is advancing “Golden” for Academy Award consideration.
