KPop Demon Hunters’ Sets Halloween Sing-Along Return With AMC as Creators Reject Live-Action

Netflix is leveraging the film’s fan momentum with a global re-release after its August No. 1 weekend.

Overview

  • The sing-along edition plays Oct. 31–Nov. 2 at AMC, Regal and Cinemark, with roughly 400 AMC locations participating in the U.S. and Europe and additional screenings across the U.K., Ireland, Korea, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
  • Tickets for U.S. and Canada go on sale Oct. 17 at 6 a.m. PT, and Netflix encourages fans to dress up, with officially licensed Spirit Halloween costumes and new merch available.
  • August’s limited sing-along engagement topped the domestic box office with an estimated $17–19 million despite AMC sitting out that run.
  • Co-directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans said a live-action remake “wouldn’t work,” stressing the story’s animation-first tone, while noting there is interest in animated expansion but no official sequel announcement.
  • The movie remains Netflix’s most-watched film to date, and its soundtrack notched multiple Hot 100 Top 10s with lead single “Golden” reaching No. 1.
