- Sohail Afridi chaired a jirga of parliamentarians, tribal elders and local notables in Bajaur to review law and order, development priorities and regional issues.
- He directed an increase in the upper age limit for police recruitment in the merged districts, expedited the Bajaur martyrs’ package and ordered security for elders who helped restore peace.
- Schools and hospitals in the merged districts will be upgraded under the Roshan Qabail/Roshan Tribes Package to improve access to education and healthcare.
- Afridi said only Rs168 billion of the promised Rs100 billion per year since the former FATA merger has been released over seven years, leaving Rs532 billion outstanding, and he criticized the non-release of Accelerated Implementation Programme funds.
- The steps come after a reported spike in militant activity in 2025 and as Central Kurram leaders call for full deployment of the army, Frontier Corps and police to restore normalcy.
