Overview

• The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly will hold a specially called session on Monday, October 13 at 10:00 AM to elect a chief minister by show of hands.
• Nomination papers were accepted for PTI’s Sohail Afridi, JUI-F’s Maulana Lutfur Rehman, PPP’s Arbab Zark, and PML-N’s Sardar Shah Jehan.
• PTI has put forward first-term MPA Sohail Afridi, while opposition parties continue consultations to settle on a joint contender.
• The Governor House confirmed receiving Gandapur’s handwritten resignation and said it is being processed under constitutional procedure, a step lawyers say must be formally accepted and notified before the vote.
• ANP said it will not take part in the process or back Afridi, and a federal minister stated there are no deliberations to impose governor’s rule in KP.
