Kouri Richins' Husband Had Her Antipsychotic Medication in System at Time of Death

Kouri Richins, accused of poisoning her husband, is awaiting trial as new evidence emerges.

Recently unsealed court documents reveal that Eric Richins, who was allegedly poisoned by his wife Kouri Richins, had her antipsychotic medication, quetiapine, in his system at the time of his death.
Kouri Richins is currently awaiting trial for her husband's murder, after he was found dead with five times the lethal dose of fentanyl in his system in March 2022.
Kouri Richins had previously sought to get the case against her dismissed, arguing that the prosecution engaged in misconduct and denied her due process.
Prosecutors suggest that Eric's murder may have been financially motivated, as Kouri had purchased four different life insurance policies on Eric's life totaling more than $1.9 million between 2015 and 2017.
Following her husband's death, Kouri published a children's book about grief.
