Overview
- Flood Forecasting Division data show a 12,000 cusec rise in 24 hours to 420,000 cusecs at Kotri with a moderate flood in effect as other rivers return to normal.
- Kacha villages in Thatta and parts of Jamshoro, Nawabshah and Sujawal are inundated, damaging hundreds of acres of rice, cotton, bananas and papayas.
- District administrations have moved residents to protective embankments and opened tent settlements for displaced families.
- The M-5 Motorway between Multan and Jhangra Interchange remains closed for the 14th day, and the Khanewal–Shorkot rail section is still out after 20 days.
- Repair efforts continue on breached embankments and Sui gas pipelines, while Punjab’s C&W reports restoring 53 of 71 bridge approaches, 131 of 439 culverts and 49 of 53 arterial roads, with damage surveys underway in southern districts.
