Kosel Sets Nightly Chanukah Candle‑Lighting for Dec. 14–21 With New Cast‑Bronze Menorah

The program highlights former hostages, bereaved families and wounded soldiers with live music and livestreams except on Shabbos.

  • Preparations are complete at the Western Wall plaza, including installation of a large cast‑bronze menorah that stands over two meters tall, nearly two meters wide and weighs close to a ton after seven months of production.
  • Central ceremonies will run each night from Sunday, December 14, through Sunday, December 21, with a public program staged by the Kosel Heritage Foundation.
  • Participants listed by organizers include rabbinic leaders, government ministers, foreign ambassadors, former captives, bereaved families, wounded IDF soldiers, IDF personnel, Israel Police and members of the public.
  • Start times are set nightly at 4:30 p.m., with Friday at 3:30 p.m., Motzaei Shabbos at 8:00 p.m., and the final night (Zos Chanukah) on Sunday, December 21, at 4:30 p.m.
  • All evenings except Friday and Motzaei Shabbos will stream live on the Kosel Heritage Foundation website to reach audiences in Israel and abroad, including IDF bases and rehabilitation hospitals.
