Overview
- The carrier began using the blend on Incheon–Kobe and Gimpo–Osaka flights on Friday, with operations scheduled through Dec. 31, 2025.
- The program covers about 90 flights on the Incheon–Kobe route and 26 flights on the Gimpo–Osaka route.
- Fuel is supplied by HD Hyundai Oilbank and GS Caltex, with both producers reporting SAF made from used cooking oil and certified under ICAO's CORSIA.
- This expansion follows a roughly year-long verification of locally produced SAF on the Incheon–Haneda route that began in August 2024.
- Industry estimates say SAF can cut life-cycle emissions by up to 80 percent, and the government plans to require blends of 1 percent in 2027, 3–5 percent in 2030, and 7–10 percent in 2035.
