Overview

  • Korean Air signed an intent to buy 20 777-9s, 25 787-10s, 50 737-10s and 8 777-8 Freighters to modernize its fleet.
  • The agreement was signed at the Korea–U.S. Business Roundtable, presided over by Howard Lutnick and South Korea’s trade minister Kim Jung-kwan.
  • The carrier calls it its largest-ever purchase, and Boeing describes it as its largest widebody order from an Asian airline.
  • Boeing says the deal, once finalized, would be Korean Air’s first 777-8F order and support an estimated 135,000 U.S. jobs.
  • With a separate March purchase of 20 777-9s and 20 787-10s, Korean Air’s 2025 Boeing orders and commitments exceed 150 units, and Boeing cites 20–30% fuel and emissions reductions for the models.
