Overview

• The Ro-Ro service will operate on alternate days from August 23 to September 11, departing Kolad at 5 pm and arriving in Verna at 5 am.
• The train journey cuts travel time to about 12 hours, nearly halving the typical 20–22 hour drive along the Konkan corridor.
• A specially designed rake of 20 wagons carries two cars each for a total of 40 vehicles per run and requires at least 16 bookings or the trip will be cancelled.
• Freight charges are set at Rs 7,875 per car inclusive of GST, with Rs 4,000 due at the time of booking and the remainder payable on the day of travel.
• Each car booking allows up to three passengers in attached 3AC or second seating coaches at fares of Rs 935 and Rs 190 respectively, with vehicles secured by belts and handbrakes engaged and no one permitted inside during transit.
