Konkan Railway Extends Ro-Ro Car Service Deadline, Adds Nandgaon Road Halt

Extending the booking window to August 18 aims to help the service meet its 16-car minimum to avoid cancellation.

Overview

  • Konkan Railway has introduced a halt at Nandgaon Road station for the KoladVerna Ro-Ro car service in response to passenger feedback.
  • Each Ro-Ro run requires a minimum of 16 car bookings by August 18 or the trip will be canceled and registration fees refunded.
  • Under the new schedule, trains depart Kolad at 3 pm to reach Nandgaon Road by 10 pm and Verna by 6 am after a midnight stop, with return services leaving Verna at 3 pm and arriving back in Kolad by 6 am.
  • Freight charges are set at ₹7,875 per car for KoladVerna and ₹5,460 for Kolad–Nandgaon journeys, both inclusive of 5% GST, plus a non-refundable ₹4,000 registration fee.
  • Once vehicles are loaded, drivers and passengers must travel in attached 3AC or 2S coaches and may book up to three seats per car, with no one permitted to stay inside the car during transit.
