Konami Plans Second and Third Waves of Silent Hill Games
The company is moving to a sustained, multi-wave revival that keeps the franchise's psychological-horror core.
Overview
- Producer Motoi Okamoto confirmed this week in an interview with Famitsu that Konami is already planning second and third waves of Silent Hill releases.
- So far the only publicly confirmed upcoming project is Bloober Team’s remake of the original 1999 Silent Hill, which Konami announced in June 2025.
- Okamoto said the initial ‘first wave’ — including the Silent Hill 2 Remake, Silent Hill f, and Silent Hill: Townfall — released successfully and earned strong praise, which prompted the decision to expand the program.
- Konami is evaluating a number of projects but has not revealed titles, release windows, or full studio lineups, and recent entries suggest outside developers such as Bloober Team, Screen Burn, and NeoBards could return.
- The move signals a shift to a steady release cadence and creative experimentation, with Okamoto expressing interest in exploring other countries’ folklore and studios adopting multi-project plans to avoid long gaps between games.
