• Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata, inked a July 16 CSR-focused MoU with PS Group Realty to redevelop and beautify the Nimtala Immersion Ghat.
• Designated under the Namami Gange initiative, the project encompasses landscaping, structural repairs and riverbank protection to restore the site’s spiritual and cultural essence.
• SMPK will provide free access to electricity, water, security and facilitate all statutory clearances and drainage provisions throughout the renovation.
• PS Group will carry out permitted construction and landscaping before handing the revitalized ghat back to SMPK for long-term maintenance.
• Port chairman Rathendra Raman and PS Group director Saurav Dugar emphasized the project’s potential to boost hygiene, civic pride and riverfront tourism.
