Kolkata Police Arrest BJP Leader Rakesh Singh, Two Children in Housing Complex Assault

Detectives now lead the probe following a counter-complaint by his minor daughter that prompted the arrest of the flat owner’s son.

Police say the confrontation in Kasba stemmed from a dispute over Singh’s alleged unauthorised occupation of another flat where the owner tried to remove his belongings.
The flat owner, Chandu Khan, was admitted to a hospital and his sons reported injuries, alleging the attackers brandished firearms and used gun butts and knives.
Rakesh Singh was taken into custody with his son Shivam and daughter Simran, and cases were registered based on the complainants’ statements.
Following the minor daughter’s molestation complaint, police arrested the flat owner’s son and opened a separate case.
Kolkata Police’s anti-rowdy section is conducting the investigation, and all accused are slated to be produced in court.
