Overview
- The special late-night Dum Dum–Shahid Khudiram service at 10:40 pm is suspended from September 3 until further notice.
- To contain cascading delays, Yellow Line trains now terminate separately at Noapara, requiring a change for Blue Line services, and Blue Line daily runs have been trimmed from 284 to 262.
- Metro will stage three rakes each overnight at Mahanayak Uttam Kumar and Noapara, and plans to restart the Tollygunge carshed before the festival season to stabilise operations.
- Cracks found in Kavi Subhash station columns led to its closure, increasing reversal times at Shahid Khudiram and prompting short-terminations at Tollygunge to manage peak demand.
- Following recent Green and Yellow corridor openings, ridership has surged to 807,030 on September 1, including 583,894 on the Blue Line, while commuters and a union voice concern over the loss of the late-night option.
