Overview
- The 22:40 experimental trains from Dum Dum and Sahid Khudiram on the Blue Line are suspended from September 3 until further notice, according to an official notice.
- The suspension stems from maintenance and an overhaul at Kavi Subhash after cracks were found in UP-line pillars, with the work expected to take about nine months.
- With Kavi Subhash closed, Blue Line services now terminate at Sahid Khudiram, and some runs have been short-turned to preserve frequency.
- Kolkata Metro raised weekday Blue Line operations to 284 trains from August 25 to meet demand, as system ridership reached about 8.07 lakh on September 1.
- RVNL invited Rs 377.82 crore bids to build a 1.37 km viaduct and an elevated IIM station on the Purple Line, which currently operates between Joka and Majerhat.
