Kolkata Metro Alters Sunday Timings for WBSSC Test Day

The transit operator coordinated with exam authorities as candidates were required to report by 10 am with admit cards.

Overview

  • Kolkata Metro ran normal services from 9 am on both corridors—DakshineswarShahid Khudiram (Blue) and Howrah Maidan–Salt Lake Sector V (Green)—to facilitate WBSSC examinees.
  • An advisory issued on Saturday had said trains would begin at 7 am on both lines, but operations on Sunday started at 9 am, according to the metro spokesperson.
  • A previously planned traffic block between Mahanayak Uttam Kumar and Shahid Khudiram on the Blue Line was not enforced, allowing full-length services to operate.
  • WBSSC instructed candidates to reach their centers by 10 am and to carry admit cards, with entry barred without them.
  • About 3.19 lakh applicants were scheduled to take the assistant teacher recruitment exam for classes 9 and 10.
