Kokrajhar Ready for BTC Vote Count on Sept. 26 After Final Randomization and Training

An intra-alliance contest among NDA partners will leave coalition choices to be settled after the results.

Overview

  • Counting is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. on Sept. 26 under the supervision of District Commissioner and Returning Officer Masanda M Pertin.
  • The district administration completed Second Level Randomization of counting personnel in the presence of general observers and senior officials for constituency-wise deployment.
  • A comprehensive second round of training at Kokrajhar University prepared supervisors, assistants, micro-observers and postal ballot teams, following an initial session on Sept. 18.
  • Final coordination with Assistant Returning Officers reinforced adherence to Election Commission protocols to ensure a smooth and impartial process.
  • With security tightened, BJP, UPPL and BPF—each part of the NDA—are vying for control, as Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma noted the BJP’s campaign slowed after Zubeen Garg’s death and said post-result tie-ups will determine governance.
