'Kokomo City' Tops 2024 Cinema Eye Honors Nominations
Netflix Leads Distributors with 11 Nominations, Awards Ceremony Set for January 12
- D. Smith’s debut feature “Kokomo City” leads the 2024 Cinema Eye Honors nominations with six nods, including Outstanding Nonfiction Feature and Outstanding Direction.
- Following “Kokomo City” are Mstyslav Chernov’s “20 Days in Mariupol,” Sam Green’s “32 Sounds,” and Maite Alberdi’s “The Eternal Memory,” each with five nominations.
- Netflix leads all distributors with a total of 11 nominations, followed by 10 nominations for Magnolia Pictures, eight for National Geographic, and seven each for HBO and Hulu.
- Directors Joe Brewster and Michèle Stephenson make history as the first filmmakers to be nominated for Nonfiction Feature and Nonfiction Short in the same year.
- The 17th annual Cinema Eye Honors will take place January 12 at the New York Academy of Medicine in East Harlem, New York.
