Overview
- New firmware versions 4.38.23429 and 4.43.23418 enable the Instapaper connection on Kobo eReaders.
- Kobo says the update is rolling out now, with reports noting a staggered release that may reach regions at different times.
- Once accounts are linked, users can access saved Instapaper articles on-device, download them for offline reading, and like, delete, or archive items.
- Email-based article import is not supported, and handwritten annotations on stylus-capable Kobos are not yet available.
- The switch follows Mozilla’s July 8 shutdown of Pocket, with Pocket data exports remaining available through October.
