Kobo Launches Affordable Color E-Readers, Challenging Amazon's Kindle

Kobo introduces the Clara Colour and Libra Colour, featuring advanced color e-ink technology, as it aims to capture a larger share of the e-reader market.

Kobo announces the release of its first color e-readers, the Kobo Clara Colour and Kobo Libra Colour, set to ship on April 30, 2024.
The new devices use E Ink Kaleido 3 technology, offering 4,096 colors and improved saturation, enhancing the reading experience.
Kobo's color e-readers are priced competitively at $150 for the Clara Colour and $220 for the Libra Colour, making them accessible to a broader audience.
Both models are waterproof, support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and the Libra Colour additionally supports the Kobo Stylus for note-taking.
Kobo's move into color e-readers positions it as a strong competitor to Amazon, which has yet to release color versions of its Kindle e-readers.
