Overview
- Active showers will push in from the west tonight and some locations could see 10–20 mm of rain before the main event.
- The KNMI has issued a code yellow for roughly 12:00–18:00 on Monday warning of heavy short-term rainfall, small hail and wind gusts of 60–70 km/h.
- Coastal areas are expected to be most affected because unusually warm sea waters add heat and moisture to the lower atmosphere and help spawn organized rainbands.
- Forecasters expect a brief dry, milder spell on Tuesday and Wednesday with more sun and temperatures near 21–23°C before the pattern turns unsettled again later in the week.
- Weeronline says September is starting wetter than normal and that a prevailing westerly flow plus warm sea temperatures could make October and November unusually wet, raising the risk of repeated heavy-rain and coastal storm episodes.
