Overview
- Dafen CP School in Llanelli was closed on Monday after Dyfed-Powys Police received online threatening messages at about 2:30am and took safeguarding action.
 - Later on Monday, police disclosed the threat alleged individuals would attend the school with knives and confirmed a critical incident was declared.
 - At least 13 units were deployed, including firearms and dog teams, as officers maintained a visible presence at the school and in surrounding areas for reassurance.
 - Following specialist enquiries, officers determined the report was unsubstantiated and said there is no ongoing investigation or risk to the wider area.
 - Carmarthenshire County Council said no other local schools required closure, and parents are receiving updates through the school's communication app.
