Knife Believed to Be Murder Weapon Recovered in Burning Man Homicide as Search for Suspect Continues

  • The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office says it has a knife believed to have caused a single stab wound to Vadim Kruglov’s neck.
  • Kruglov, 37, was found on Aug. 30 around 9:14 p.m., with the attack occurring between about 8 and 9:30 p.m. near 8:00–8:45 and I Street in Black Rock City.
  • Investigators have not identified a suspect, have collected hundreds of tips, and are asking for photos, videos and witness accounts from attendees.
  • The Burning Man Project and Secret Witness are offering a combined $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
  • In separate figures released by Pershing County, 44 people were arrested during the nine-day event, mostly on drug charges, with additional cases including assault, sexual assault, burglary and domestic battery, the most since 2019.
