Knicks Decline Derrick Rose's Option, Josh Hart's Deadline Extended

Derrick Rose will become an unrestricted free agent as the New York Knicks decline his $15.6 million option for the 2023-24 season.
Josh Hart and the New York Knicks have extended the deadline for his $12.9 million player option until Thursday.
Hart could opt-in and extend off that $12.9 million number for next season or decline the option and become an unrestricted free agent.
Opting in and extending off his $12.9 million salary for next season would give the Knicks access to using their full $12.4 million non-tax payer mid-level exception.
Rose's extensive injury history may lead to retirement, but a reunion with the Bulls on a one-year deal is also a possibility.
